Why isn’t my cream working?
The favorite beauty product of most women is the daytime cream. Moisturizing, restoring, anti-aging – the options vary depending on individual skin characteristics. Why sometimes even a high-quality expensive product does not work? Perhaps the problem is that you make mistakes in its application?
1. Not sufficiently cleansed skin
You probably know how to clean your skin, but most often simple washing with water or even foam is not enough. Sometimes our pores are so deeply clogged that it is even imperceptible. Dry skin As a rule, it is thinner than other types, so regular washing in the morning and evening and using a scrub 1-2 times a week is enough for it. The cream will work well and delight the skin with nutritious components. Oily and combination skin Use detox masks based on salicylic acid, AHA acids, algae, charcoal, or clay twice a week. They exfoliate dead cells and deeply cleanse pores of dirt and excess sebum.
2. You do not tone your skin
Toner prepares the skin for the application of serum and cream. It is a kind of conductor that allows the active ingredients in the composition of the serum and cream to be better absorbed, assimilated, and act more effectively on the skin. It also completes the process of cleansing the skin. Even if you have thoroughly removed makeup using hydrophilic oil, and then washed with foam, on a cotton pad soaked with toner, you will most likely find traces of pollution.
3. Patience and consistency
The number one rule in skincare is consistency. Don’t believe the myths that your skin can “get tired” or “overloaded” if you use the same cream. All experts agree: the moisturizing ingredients of a cream fully reveal their effect after about a month, and the molecules need much more time. Invisible but very effective particles gradually reach the dermis to trigger the same slow upgrade of cellular mechanisms that promote regeneration and elasticity renewal from within.
4. You apply night cream 5 minutes before sleep
Smearing on cream and immediately going to sleep, sound familiar? Of course, it says “night” on the jar of cream! But this doesn’t mean that you should immediately rest your cheek on the pillow, wiping it off on your pillowcase. Before going to bed, allow the cream to absorb and take effect – apply it at least 40 minutes before sleeping.
5. You apply too much cream
Applying a thick layer of cream shows your “generosity” towards your skin and your caring attitude towards it. But trust me, it’s unnecessary! You only need enough cream to cover the surface of your skin with a uniform layer. That’s why cosmetologists advise removing excess product with a tissue! If they remain on the skin, mixing with its secretions and environmental pollutants, they clog pores.
